Homewood Suites by Hilton Omaha-Downtown

This place was very nice! BUT, the little things was noticeable. The alarm clock, you can tell that it hasn’t been dusted in at least a week! There was a long piece of hair that was on the night stand and all in the drawer where the blow dryer went into. It could use a nice deep cleaning. The lotion that was on the wall wasn’t even on the wall.. looked like it got ripped off. The shower door was also off the rail with a broken door handle? Rail? (Was one of those sliding shower doors) and the a/c unit was very loud! But in all… 3/5 stars. It was good to us… but could use some fixing and a deep clean.

Generally a good experience. We were there with friends. Some maintenance issues in their room and in public spaces. Parking was paid. Not sure why they didn’t just build it into the price of the room. Would be easier for the customer and more what’s expected from a hotel rental. Not enough wheelchair parking by a long shot. Nice pool area but they ran out of towels.

This was our second time staying here because of the location. However, I doubt that we stay here again due to several reasons. The hotel has an indoor pool but it was so cold you were not able to enjoy it. Our door handle quit working on the 2nd night and we were unable to get in. We went down to the front desk and thankfully Sandy was able to help us get in after she called maintenance and they walked her through how to access the internal security to get the door open. She also made sure that maintenance was told to fix it the next morning. After several attempts from maintenance, they had to basically rebuild another door handle because they didn't have a replacement. Kudos to the 2 guys that achieved success and we didn't have any more problems. However the last night of our stay was a nightmare! We returned to the hotel after attending a baseball game only to find out that the elevators were down. Unfortunately our rooms were on the 8th floor and both my husband and I have copd so walking up 8 flights of stairs was not easy. There were several families that had checked in and they also had to carry their luggage plus their little children up the stairs. There was a security guard that could have helped them, but he was too lazy to even lend a hand, all he did was complain about how many hours he had left on his shift! Thankfully the elevators were fixed over night so we were able to use them when we checked out. I am very thankful for Sandy the night clerk and the maintenance men(I didn't get their names), if it wasn't for them our stay would have a total nightmare.
